FAQ

Q.  Do I really need an attorney’s help for my workers’ compensation claim?

A. Workers Compensation Law can be complicated. If your claim has been denied, you should contact a workers’ compensation lawyer to determine if you are eligible for benefits in spite of your denied claim.

Q.  Will contacting an attorney for my workers’ compensation claim put my job in jeopardy?

ANo, it will not.

Q. Do I have to pay an upfront fee for attorney services?

A. At Hosmer and Wise, there is no upfront fee. Our initial consultation to determine if you have a case is free, and if we take on your case, we don’t take a fee until after your case is successfully concluded.

Q. Is it better to settle a case out of court or take it to trial?

A.  That depends on the case. Every case is unique, and we treat them as such. We are highly experienced negotiators and will work hard to settle your case for maximum benefits, but if we feel that your case is strong enough to get a better deal at trial, we will take your case to trial to get you the highest amount of compensation possible. We have a nearly 100% success rate at trial.

Q. How long will it take to be compensated?

A. We aggressively pursue each and every one of our clients’ cases and keep them moving forward. That said, getting the maximum amount of compensation takes time. As you can imagine, insurance companies are not quick to settle claims for the maximum amount of compensation possible.  Every case is different. It can take a few months to up to a year or more to get the most fair settlement or trial award. What you can count on is that we will be there with you every step of the way.
